"WMS Idle" Not Responding When Shutting Down Windows XP

Well, after suffering through this error for many months, I finally decided to research the solution.

In my case, it was because the computer had Nero 7 Essentials installed. To solve the problem, I followed the following steps:

1. Click Start | All Programs | Nero 7 Essentials | Tools | Nero Scout
2. In the left hand column, click Indexing | Folders
3. Click the Clear All button
4. Uncheck the Enable Nero Scout item
5. Click OK

And that was it.
