I've never sat on the bleeding edge when it comes to technology, and it seems to have continued. I've only just had a look at Windows Live Writer from Microsoft, and so far I like what I see.
I especially like the way it imports the style from your site and displays your posts accordingly. With w.bloggar, I had to hack together a CSS definition to get the same effect.
