Firefox 3 Released

So now that the dust has settled, and the Firefox Download Day is over, it looks like the software was downloaded over 8 million times. As expected, they had some server trouble, and I was unable to use the update process from within the release candidate.

However, direct downloads eventually did work, and the install went smoothly. As I mentioned in a previous post, the improved performance leaves IE7 in the dust.

There are rumours circulating that this is the year of the Browser War Rematch, with FF3, Opera 9.5 and soon IE8 available. Do you think this release cycle will change the market penetration for each browser?
